Christmas 2009

Jeramy and I got back Sunday night. Monday my sister had to work so we got Daegan. Jeramy is just smitten with that little boy, and Daegan is just as smitten with him.

Through out the week we did the rest of our Christmas shopping and the kids and I made cookies for Santa.

The Christmas festivities started Christmas Eve. First we went to my grandmother's house. I don't have any pictures from there because I left my camera in the car, and it decided to snow on us here in Texas, so I was like screw that lol. Anyways after my grandmother's house we went to Jeramy's Uncle Vince and Aunt Dee's house. They have a get together every year Christmas Eve and we do the Chinese gift exchange. Here are a few pictures of us there:

Then we came home and went to sleep because Santa was going to come. This year is the first year that the kids have ever woken us up. Usually Jeramy wakes them up, but this year they woke us up...( might of been from the tequila the night before) So Santa brought Zoei and new "big" bike and Zane the new Nerf CS-35 gun.....

After we opened all of our gifts we got ready and went to my parents house. LOVE going there. We all opened our presents and sat around and talked. Then we took pictures.....

Our last stop was Jeramy sister's house. We got there around 1:30 or so. It was pretty cool. One of Jeramy's uncle's had found Tabitha on Facebook so he came and brought his daughter. It was fun. They hadn't seen each other in 20 years. So we all opened presents and ate. Sat around and talked for a long time. Busted out the games like we always do. We left there around 11ish. We took Kevin home and then his uncle Brian home and finally came home and crashed!

All in all this Christmas was wonderful . It was my nephew's first Christmas, and my husband got to be home. Him being gone really makes you realise how much you love and miss someone, so him being here was my biggest present!!!

My Trip to Fort Eustis

I left to go get Jeramy December 17th. I took the kids to school that morning and then hit the road. By the time I actually got on the road it was about 8:45am. I drove straight through Texas Arkansas Tennessee and then through Virginia. I finally got there at 6:45 Friday morning. I checked into the hotel and passed out lol. I got up at 12:45 because it was time to go shopping. I got most of my shopping done at the PX and stores around the PX. Jeramy wasn't allowed to leave at all because they had them on lock down. But I was allowed to go up there and see him. It had started snowing on me while I was shopping, but it really started coming down while I was sitting in the car with Jeramy.

This is outside the barracks: Fort Eustis Virginia

This is 30 minutes after I got there

Both Jeramy and I were so amazed at how big the flakes were

I left the base around 9:30 and went back to the hotel. I had checked the weather the Saturday before I left. It said that it was suppose to be in the 40's. Well I didn't think the rain in Flordia and the cold air from the North would combine and drop snow right where I was lol. Anyways I went to sleep and then got up at 5 and got ready. I went to the base and picked up Jeramy at 6. We came back to the hotel and slept until about 9. Jeramy hadn't slept at all. They were going to let everyone sleep and just wake them up at 4am, but every 15 minutes they were calling people over the intercom and some guys wouldn't get up and were missing their flights so they made everyone get up at 2am and sit out in the hall. Anyways we got up at 9 and checked out of the hotel. By this time in Newport News Virginia all the snow had turned into water. So we thought we would be alright.....yeah right. About 30 minutes into the drive we started seeing snow again. About 45 minutes into the drive, it got crazy. We had to slow down to 20 miles an hour because you could no longer see the roads. All you saw was snow and ice.

This is highway 64 in Virginia

I was amazed at how pretty it was but it sucked to drive in

we were going to get off and get a hotel and let it pass (can you see the car?)

All you see is the side mirror lol

We were going to get off and get a hotel room and let it pass. But there was so much snow you couldn't even get into the parking lots. We went to a gas station to see if the clerk knew how long it was suppose to snow. This was saturday morning, and she said that it was suppose to snow until Tuesday. Then on top of that we found out that Highway 81 which is what we had to go on to get out of Virginia and into Tennessee was shut down. We had to get back in the car and back track almost 100 miles. It had taken us 5 hours to drive that 100 miles and now we were going to have to back track it.... It was just a beat down. So we got back in the car and headed back to hit highway 95 south. We drove until 9:30 that night and then stopped and got a hotel. We had made it through Virginia, North Carolina and were just inside South Carolina. We slept that night and got up at 6 to hit the road again. Sunday we drove the rest of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and then the half of texas. We only stopped to get gas and everytime we stopped we switched drivers. It was such a long drive, we were so ready to get home. We finally made it home at 9:30 Sunday night.
Driving through the blizzard was crazy. Who would of ever thought that Jeramy, a boy from Texas could drive so good through that shit lol. I was really impressed! I was so glad that he was there to drive through it because I was freaking out and I was in the passenger seat lol...... I couldn't think of a better road buddy though. It was good to talk and talk and talk, I mean what else are you going to do when out of 38 hours, 28 of those hours you are stuck in a car driving. Glad we made it home safe!!!

Ready to get this show on the road

I can't wait to get my hands on this man!! I really can't believe that I am leaving in two days to go get him. It feels like these past couple of weeks have just gone by so fast. I know that it is because I have Daegan with me during the day so it makes them just fly by. I already have the rental car taken care of. I did laundry Sunday and today, I burned the Cd's that Jeramy wanted me to bring with me. (Gotta love limewire!) I still have to pack my stuff and then some clothes for Jeramy. When he gets to leave Saturday morning he has to leave in his ACU's, hubba hubba! I plan on taking him back to the hotel and showing him who is real drill Sargent is.....LMAO!!! I can just see your face right now, thinking OMG April, do you really have to say that and the answer is yes! Anyways he doesn't want to drive 1400 miles in ACU's so he wants some clothes to drive in. Friday I am going shopping at the PX. It's like a little walmart, they have everything there and you don't have to pay taxes so it makes it even better. Zoei wants a bike from Santa. Here the one she wants is 80 plus tax, but there its 50 with no tax...gotta love that! Other than that all she wants is paint, and paint brushes, nail polish all girly stuff. Zane wants a game, of course, and then he wants the new Nerf gun. I swear that is the only gun he doesn't own. I asked him what else he wanted and he said that he wants daddy to pick something out for him......LOVE THAT! Anyways I guess I better go to bed. 6:30 is going to come early...too bad I'm not tired!

my days with "D"

This little precious boy has made all the difference in my world. I told Ashley when she got pregnant that I would watch him during the day while she worked. Not knowing then that my husband would be gone for eight months, and I would have such a hard time dealing with him being gone. I know that Ashley is happy that she doesn't have to put him in daycare, and knows that he is taken care of. At the same time he has brought such joy in my daily life. Before I started watching him, the kids were at school all day long. It gave me nothing but time to think about Jeramy not being here and how much I wanted to be where he was. My mind would just go and go and go. Now that I have him here with me, he takes up most of my time. I mean he is sleeping right now so obviously it doesn't take up all of my time, but you get the point. Feeding him, changing his diapers, talking to him just doing baby stuff. It doesn't give me time to sit and dwell....thankful yes blessed is good!!

getting excited

I can't wait to see these tree's again, and finally end up trying to find Jeramy in all of these men....I am getting so excited! I got the rental car taken care of today. So now I only have to wait 8 more days until I get to leave! I am driving to Virginia to pick up Jeramy for the Christmas Exodus (army talk) I really can't believe he is going to be here for 17 days! That will be the longest I have seen him since July. I have seen him for two days here, four days there, but 17...I'm not going to know what to do with myself. Okay, so I have some ideas lol....I won't go there.
These days are going by pretty fast though. Now that I have Daegan during the day I have something to keep my mind going. I don't just sit and dwell on the fact that he isn't here. Which really beats me down....1365 mile road trip by myself= good for my soul 1365 mile road trip with my sexy hubby=even better for my soul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
